August 03 – In case you missed the news,  football is set to finally make a return to South African television screens after an almost five-month Covid-19 enforced hiatus.

The season will resume on Saturday, August 8, with the Nedbank Cup semi-finals where Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Bidvest Wits while Bloemfontein Celtic go toe to toe with Baroka.

League games will kick off on August 11, in a biologically safe environment created in Gauteng.

The first fixture of the restart will be a mouth-watering and potentially title deciding fixture between Orlando Pirates and second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns.

Log leaders will Kaizer Chiefs will take on the soon to be defunct Wits, who have sold their Premier Soccer League (PSL) status to GladAfrica Championship side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

 South Africans can expect games every two days as the PSL race towards their target of September 5, as the last day of the season. NW
