Likuena players are in line to receive M10 000 pay checks following their momentous 3-0 triumph against Bafana Bafana in a mouth-watering 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) second round, second leg encounter.
The match was played at the Dobsonville stadium in Soweto on Sunday.
Likuena are progressing to the next round of CHAN qualifiers after winning 6-2 aggregate to South Africa. The first leg battle in Maseru on July 28 ended in a 3-2 win for Lesotho.
The 2020 CHAN tournament – which exclusively features players from the respective national leagues and not overseas-based players, takes place in Cameroon.
Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) confirmed yesterday that each Likuena player will receive a M10 000 bonus.
“The Lesotho Football Association President Advocate Salamane Phafane (KC) has just announced that the Executive Committee of the Association has taken a decision to give each member of the Likuena squad M10 000 after today’s 3-0 victory over Bafana Bafana,” announced LeFA yesterday.
This is a historic moment for Likuena‚ who claimed a first win over Bafana Bafana in nine attempts – and 24 years of trying. NW
