LESOTHO HAS THE LOWEST REPORTED COVID-19 CASES IN AFRICA

Maseru, June 8 (The Night’s Watch) – There are now more than over 150,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus across Africa.

According to the latest data by the John Hopkins University and Africa Center for Disease Control on COVID-19 in Africa, the breakdown remains fluid as countries confirm cases as and when.

Lesotho and Seychelles are countries currently with the lowest confirmed cases in the region.

Lesotho has only four confirmed cases with zero death while Seychelles has 11 reported cases and zero death.

South Africa, Egypt and Nigeria have the highest reported cases on the continent.

South Africa has 48,285 cases and 998 deaths, followed by Egypt with 34,079 confirmed cases and 10,131 deaths while Nigeria has 12,486 confirmed cases and 354 deaths.

As of May 13, every African country had recorded an infection, the last being Lesotho.
