Bafana Bafana stand-in coach David Notoane has had to deal with a number of withdrawals ahead of the CHAN qualifying clash against Likuena.

South Africa’s African Nations Cup (Chan) team coach David Notoane has been forced to make changes to the team that will take on Lesotho in the first-leg qualifier tomorrow in Maseru. Injuries and club commitments have forced Notoane to adjust his squad.

Some of the players initially selected but had to drop out due to injuries or availability are goalkeeper Mondli Mpoto, defenders Thendo Mukumela, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Reeve Frosler and Justice Tshabalala.

Also dropping out from the first-leg assignment are midfielders Goodman Mosele, Grant Margeman, Zukile Kewuti and Lerato Lepasa.

The Chan team arrived in Maseru yesterday and trained in the afternoon at Setsoto stadium before they wound up the training schedule on today at the match venue.

Bafana Bafana and Likuena clash in the first round at Setsoto Stadium on Sunday at 14:00 with the return leg is pencilled for Dobsonville Stadium, Soweto next Sunday. That match will kick off at 15h00.

Bafana Bafana will depart Maseru for Johannesburg on Monday where they will continue preparing for the second leg encounter.

The match will be played on the artificial pitch, reason why Notoane’s charges trained at Nike Centre in Johannesburg before travelling to Maseru. NW
