COLD FRONT BRINGING SNOW SET TO LASH LESOTHO

By Staff Writers

Wild weather conditions are predicted to lash Lesotho on Thursday evening, with conditions in the highlands expected to be freezing as the country is swept by a cold front.

“There is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall over the high-lying areas and rain showers elsewhere on Thursday evening, 5th of September into Friday,” Director Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) Director ‘Mathabo Mahahabisa on Wednesday.

Mahahabisa said very cold conditions are anticipated on Friday.

These weather conditions would ease on Saturday.

“The anticipated weather conditions might cause some disruption on the roads connecting the lowlands to the highlands, particularly the eastern highlands.” she said.

“The nation is therefore encouraged to take precautions and stay tuned to local media for frequent updates from Lesotho Meteorological Services,” she concluded. NW
